Hey, Nevadans!
There’s a new bar in the Arts District called Dustland—have y’all tried it yet? It’s on Commerce Street, which I’m glad to see the Arts District is expanding.
Is Wednesday too early to think about the weekend? Because I’m thinking of checking Dustland out this weekend.
Have a good day!

Check out these cases from the kidnapping of Kevyn Wynn, daughter of casino owner Steve Wynn, to the 1996 shooting of Tupac near the Strip that rocked Las Vegas—and the world.

– The Clark County School District (CCSD) offers family engagement resources, from University of Family Learning workshops, to services offered at the Family Support Center, which include support in multiple languages (i.e., Spanish, Tagalog, Arabic).
– Students will still receive free school meals during the 2025-2026 school year.
– The CCSD Police Department will have officers assigned to campuses who often build relationships with students and staff to help address concerns and keep the school safe. Each CCSD campus utilizes an instant alert system to notify first responders of incidents on campus.

NV ‘should be ready for anything’ when it comes to Trump and K-12 funding cuts, lawmaker warns: “An estimated $49 million in federal grants appropriated by Congress for K-12 education is still being withheld from Nevada, according to state leaders […] The money, which had been expected by states on July 1, was meant to support a variety of programs, including afterschool activities, teacher training, and expanded science and technology opportunities for students.” (Nevada Current)

Nevada scores poorly for plastics pollution in recent report: “Nevada is one of nearly two-thirds of U.S. states that needs improvement in tackling plastic pollution, according to a recently released report by Ocean Conservancy. The state earned one-and-a-half stars out of five for its efforts to reduce environmental impacts of plastics, largely because of a lack of policy action.” (This is Reno)
