Last week, several Arts District businesses received a notice from the City of Las Vegas about a proposed amendment to the city's noise curfew, which exempts the Arts District until 2 a.m. The City of Las Vegas said "nothing is imminent in terms of any changes to the noise ordinance" in the Arts District.
An American Airlines flight had to turn around following its departure from Harry Reid International Airport on Wednesday, June 25, after smoke was seen coming from the plane.
Footage filmed by X user @mvious shows dark smoke billowing from the plane as it passed by the Las Vegas National Golf Course on Wednesday.
Airport officials said that American Airlines Flight 1665 was headed from Las Vegas to North Carolina but diverted back to make an emergency landing at the Las Vegas airport due to smoke coming from its left engine, according to local news reports.
Reports said the FAA confirmed that the American Airlines plane returned safely back to Harry Reid around 8:20 am and is investigating.
