Happy Monday, Nevadans!
I’ve always worked from home, so my home office space is pretty important for my productivity and creativity.
Last year, I painted this room pink. But it has taken me a whole other year to hang things on the wall. Well, finally, this weekend I grabbed the Command Strips and stuck my framed front pages from 2020 and my Nevada map on the wall. I also hung some postcards I’ve accumulated on Carson City work trips and at thrift stores on the frame.
And for those of you curious about why I chose pink: I drew inspiration from the sand found in Red Rock or Valley of Fire.
Have a great week!

Fisher says cost for the Las Vegas A’s ballpark has risen above $2 billion: “Athletics owner John Fisher said the planned 33,000-capacity stadium at the corner of the Strip and Tropicana Avenue is moving toward an April 2028 opening, although the cost—initially billed at $1.5 billion and raised to $1.75 billion last year, is now ‘up in the $2 billion range,’ which makes the ballpark more expensive than the $1.9 billion, 60,000-seat Allegiant Stadium.” (The Nevada Independent)

Is Nevada’s rural health care at risk after the ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’? “If nothing is done to the law, starting in 2028, rural hospitals will likely have to eliminate some services they currently provide to rural communities, typically where Indigenous communities are located. The law added Medicaid work requirements, regardless of the job market in their areas and a reduction in the hospital’s provider fee program funding.” (KUNR)
