Happy Thursday, estimados lectores.
Thank goodness for our pets and furry friends!
This past weekend Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson, Heaven Can Wait Animal Society, Amor Peludo, and 17 community nonprofit partners all co-hosted a Pet Resource Fair at Sunset Park. Many families were able to haul away sacks of pet food, dress their pets in their Sunday best, take away important information on where to spay/neuter their pet or even add a new member to their familia. Awesome folks like Ruby Lopez, one of Amor Peludo’s co-founders, worked hard to build one hundred community cat shelters to distribute throughout the valley now that the temperatures are getting quite cold.
¿Sabías que the city of Las Vegas recently adopted an ordinance that will require pet owners to microchip their dogs and cats by August 2024?
¡Así que no te pierdas esta importante oportunidad! On Saturday, Nov. 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Arizona Charlie’s located at 740 S Decatur Blvd will host a free microchipping event for the comunidad in partnership with veterinarians from the Veterinary Centers of America, who will be available to implant microchips in pets within the Las Vegas community. Leíste bien, ¡GRATIS!
Microchips are free for the first two pets per owner, and there is a $10 donation for any additional microchip, benefitting The Animal Foundation, which has provided 500 microchips for the event. Also on site will be a select number of adoptable animals hoping to find their “fur-ever” home. Ahora que hace frío, The Animal Foundation estará aceptando cobijas usadas y en buen estado para ayudar a nuestras queridas mascotas a mantenerse confortables mientras esperan a su nueva familia.
