Happy Monday, Nevadans!
As we approach August, I’m already looking forward to spooky season—which should start in September (in my opinion) but stores everywhere are already selling Halloween and fall merchandise, and many consider Aug. 1 the start of the season.
What do you all think? Are you already daydreaming of apple cider, pumpkin pie, and cooler weather?

🌊 Ride the Wave Back to School — Community pool party before the start of the school year on Aug. 2, 12-3 p.m. at the Silver Mesa Recreation Center and Pool (4025 Allen Lane) in North Las Vegas. Admission is free.
🖍 Desert Breeze Community Center Back-to-School fair — Saturday, Aug. 9, 8:30-10:30 a.m. at 8275 Spring Mountain Road. There will be backpack giveaways, community resources, vaccines, health screenings, haircuts, and more (while supplies last). This event is free, but pre-registration is required. Children must be present to receive supplies.
🎭 Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival — The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival at Sand Harbor is headlined by productions of “Twelfth Night,” a romantic comedy, and Peter and the “Starcatcher,” the playful Peter Pan prequel. Shows run through Aug. 24, Tuesdays through Sundays at 7:30 p.m. Find tickets online.

Taquería Casa Del Sabor, which also has brick-and-mortar locations at 6840 W Sahara Ave. and 4935 Palo Verde Road. is definitely worth the hype. And they’re open 24 hours.
