You don’t have to bust your budget feeding your family. Look for low prices and special savings at these Nevada grocery stores.

It’s no secret that Nevadans are struggling with the rising cost of groceries.

In March, the USDA predicted a 3.6% price increase in 2026 for food products nationwide, with specific predictions including:

  • Beef and veal prices: 10.1%
  • Fresh vegetables: 4.8%
  • Sugar and sweet: 9.8%

Earlier this year, Consumer Reports commissioned a study on the most and least expensive supermarkets in the US. Fortunately for Nevadans, three supermarkets with Silver State locations, Costco, Aldi, and WinCo, were among the Top 5. All three were rated cheaper than the country’s largest grocery retailer, Walmart, which was used as a baseline.

If you’re struggling to feed your family or yourself without busting your budget, read on. Here’s a look at 7 Nevada grocery stores with deals, savings, or low prices, and some extra tips for saving.

Top 3 cheapest supermarkets in Nevada

Costco

Location: Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Las Vegas, Henderson

Everyone knows that the world’s third-largest retailer, Costco, has killer gas prices and arguably the best deal ever on a hot dog and soda ($1.50) at its food court. You can also get great deals on prescriptions, insurance, and groceries. The tradeoff is that you have to buy in bulk, and membership is required.

Yelp reviewers say of the Costco in Henderson, it’s a no-brainer and “worth every penny,” noting “you can easily make up for the annual membership price in savings.” Yelpers at the Summerlin location are convinced Costco has the “best prices in the state of Nevada.”

Aldi

Location: Las Vegas, Henderson

A grocery store with groupies, Aldi has a dedicated Reddit thread, a social media presence, and a fan website sharing viral Aldi products and a visual guide to the hottest deals of the week. The grocery store claims it’s “designed with savings in mind,” and customers mostly agree, posting on Yelp that prices are competitive, reasonable, or cheaper than those at other supermarkets.

Aldi has weekly specials and price drops, but the fan-named “Aisle of Shame” is perhaps the most infamous place to look for great deals. Officially, the “Aldi Finds” aisle or aisles, there are hundreds of deeply discounted food and non-food items, from potato chips to garden gnomes. If you enjoy going on a treasure hunt for deals, you’re golden, but impulse buyers, beware. Even the best deals add up.

WinCo Foods

Location: Reno, Sparks, Las Vegas, Henderson

A warehouse-style, employee-owned supermarket, WinCo trades thrills and frills for low prices. The store has digital coupons, in-store events, and promotions, but prices are generally low on their own.

Customers on Reddit especially like the cheap bulk spices, but also cite savings on produce, eggs, and other foods. They say WinCo is the cheapest of grocery stores, noting it “usually wins the price wars by a good margin.”

Other supermarkets with sales, deals, or low prices

Smith’s Food and Drug

Location: Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Dayton, Gardnerville, Las Vegas, Henderson

Though prices at Smith’s, a subsidiary of Kroger, are comparable to those of other chain supermarkets, and Kroger was rated more expensive than Walmart in Consumer Reports, Yelpers are quick to point out that the Utah and Nevada stores have “great sale prices,” markdowns, and a comprehensive app with digital coupons and specials.

When you combine digital savings, sale prices, coupons, and other deals, plus opportunities for cash back and fuel points, smart shoppers see lots of savings (and get a lower price at the pump at Smith’s gas stations). Smith’s also has a Verified Savings program for shoppers on SNAP, WIC, and Medicaid, adding additional savings on top of other savings.

Grocery Outlet

Location: Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Fernley, Dayton, Incline Village, Winnemucca, Las Vegas, Henderson

The Grocery Outlet finds great deals on overstock and closeout products globally, then passes the savings to its customers, citing costs of 40% to 70% less than competitors. These savings are echoed by customers on Yelp, and one reviewer confirmed that “things I normally buy at big grocery chains, including Walmart or on Amazon,” were cheaper.

As an outlet, inventory changes frequently, which keeps things interesting, but like the special discount aisles at Aldi or at any outlet, liquidation, or overstock shop, once a product is gone, it’s likely gone forever.

Smart & Final

Location: Reno, Las Vegas, Henderson

If you like the idea of buying in bulk, but don’t want to invest in a store membership or schlep through a massive warehouse, Smart & Final may be for you. Smaller than Costco but still well-stocked, the store has products for various budgets with weekly ads, digital coupons, and promotions.

Customers on Yelp note that Smart & Final isn’t as cheap as Costco but is “cheaper than mainstream markets” with lots of good deals. They cite savings on various items and surprise deals you can only find while shopping.

The After Market

Location: Las Vegas

A joint grocery store and food pantry in northeastern Las Vegas, The After Market is a well-rounded market that also offers food assistance. While prices are similar to, and sometimes higher than, competing markets, all shoppers here have access to a variety of free products in the food pantry section, like rice, beans, sauce, and other staples and treats. The free food offsets the cost of groceries, making it one of the best deals you can find.

Customers at The After Market enter through the grocery store entrance and exit through the pantry. It is open to anyone who wants to save money or support a good cause. Every dollar spent at The After Market goes directly back into its operations.
