Hi, Nevadans!
We’ve got some updates about Gov. Joe Lombardo’s competitors in the 2026 race for governor to start your week off!
Democratic Attorney General Aaron Ford announced in a press release this week that, in the 30 days after officially launching his candidacy for governor, his campaign coffers rose from about $500,000 to $1.1 million. That still leaves a more than $4 million lead by Lombardo, based on his January financial reports, which show $5.5 million raised.
Washoe County Commission Chair Alexis Hill, another Democratic challenger in the race, blitzed the media this week with details about her campaign, including her mission to end tax abatements for the wealthy. Her fellow Democrat, Ford, voted in favor of massive tax incentives while serving in the legislature, including a $750 million tax credit for Allegiant Stadium and $1.3 billion for the Gigfactory, according to Nevada Current.
It’s been great getting to start the day with you, Nevada! Jannelle will be back in your inboxes on Wednesday.
Take care!

Over 100 people were arrested, but most of the cases are not going to proceed, at least for now.
