By Aleza Freeman
Northern and Southern Nevada are celebrating Pride Month 2026 with a variety of events for all ages, from family-friendly festivals and Bingo nights to adults-only costume parties at nightclubs, drag brunches, and pool parties.
A month-long observance dedicated to LGBTQ+ culture and community, Pride Month coincides with the anniversary of the watershed 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City, and the beginning of the gay liberation movement. Pride Month has been recognized in the U.S. since 1999 as a celebration of diversity and equality and a reminder of the ongoing struggles faced by the LGBTQ+ community. It has since grown into a global movement.
If you’re interested in celebrating Pride Month in Nevada, read on to find the event or events happening near you.

Join COURIER and 3.14 Action on June 11 for Facts vs. Fiction: The Fight for Science in American Democracy.
Misinformation isn’t just noise. It’s shaping policy decisions that determine who can afford care, which communities are protected, and how our government responds to real-world risks.
This live conversation will examine what’s at stake when facts are ignored and how science-informed leadership has shaped policy on healthcare, climate, agriculture, and public health. At a moment when institutions and public trust are under attack, we’ll explore what happens when decision-making is driven by evidence, what it takes to rebuild trust, and why scientific integrity is essential to democracy.
Stay tuned for more speaker announcements, and don’t miss this conversation.

🟣 Turf war: Water scarcity pits Las Vegas residents against water managers. KNPR
“The law officially goes into effect next January, but the Southern Nevada Water Authority has already begun working to replace that grass with more drought-tolerant landscaping, mostly through rebates for customers who choose to re-landscape. A lawsuit is now challenging the Southern Nevada Water Authority’s grass removal program in federal court. The suit claims that the program’s enforcement is overzealous and is potentially causing environmental harm.”
🟣 Not just a Las Vegas Strip problem: Trafficking happens at local casinos too, says advocate. Nevada Current
“If Nevada wants to do a better job protecting people from human trafficking, state lawmakers should look beyond the Las Vegas Strip, says one mental health provider. [Jessica Kay, a licensed social worker and trafficking survivor] believes more needs to be done to collect data to identify which hotels are hotspots for trafficking. That includes reviewing incidents at ‘off-Strip’ casinos geared toward locals.”
🟣 Nevada Health Authority pauses new state licenses for hospice, home-health services over fraud concerns. 8 News Now
“The pause on new state licenses for hospice and home-health providers and a moratorium on new enrollments for Nevada Medicaid come as fraud in the hospice and home-healthcare spaces garners national attention with high-dollar crimes from Medicaid and Medicare billing activities and fake operations … Upon federal approval, the moratorium will be in effect for at least six months as state officials validate and confirm the legitimacy of current providers.”
