Hi, Nevadans!
Have you taken advantage of the Las Vegas sale? Today is your last chance. I’ve never been to a Vegas Golden Knights game, so I took the deal and got tickets for a match!
And for our Reno food enthusiasts: Remember how we asked for your favorite spots? Now you can vote for which one should be in our first Reno Food Guide.
Have a safe weekend!

Today, Sept. 26, is the last day of “The Fabulous 5-Day Sale” held this week to help promote business amid an economic slump. The sale encompasses upwards of 100 deals, including price cuts on hotels, restaurants, stores, shows, sporting events and more.
The exact promotions and savings vary from one establishment to the next. For example, The Bellagio is offering up to $100 off daily food and beverage credits, along with 25% off room rates, and the Vegas Golden Knights have tickets starting at $59 for select home games.
Have you checked out the deals?

Why are drug overdoses still rising in Nevada? “CDC data from April 2024 to April 2025 shows a concerning trend: Nevada currently has the third-highest overdose rate increase in the nation, behind Arizona and Hawaii. Additionally, Nevada is one of only four states in total who even saw a rate increase. While overdoses here have gone up more than 8 percent during that time period, the rest of the country experienced declines in their rates, by about 25 percent on average.” (KNPR)

Thacker Pass is Trump’s latest move for direct federal ownership in private companies: “The Trump administration is seeking an equity stake in Lithium Americas as it renegotiates the company’s $2.26 billion federal loan for the Thacker Pass mine project in Nevada. Reuters reported on Tuesday the White House is requesting as much as a 10% stake in the Canada-based mining company in exchange for a modification to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) loan.” (Nevada Current)
