“The Southern Nevada Homelessness Continuum of Care Point-in-Time (PIT) count in January revealed that 8,859 people in Clark County are experiencing homelessness on a single night in January 2026. Due to multiple factors, PIT counts are incapable of capturing the full extent of homelessness, which means a PIT is almost invariably an undercount.”

“The group is the second to formally announce a bid for the franchise. Golden Knights owner Bill Foley placed his bid for the team last month. There’s currently no official timeline for when a Las Vegas based team might take the court. However, the group says a Vegas team could start playing once construction on an arena begins.”

“Ranchers already use targeted grazing to reduce cheatgrass. Now, UNR researchers are studying whether cattle can also help reseed the landscape. The approach mixes native grass seeds into protein supplements cattle already eat. Researchers then track whether the seeds can survive digestion and be spread naturally across the range after being deposited in manure.”
