🎭 The Dam Short Film Society presents a Night of Comedy — Tuesday, Nov. 11, doors open at 6 p.m. program starts at 7 p.m. at The Beverly Theater (515 6th St., Las Vegas) Enjoy 10 crowd-favorite comedic short films from past Dam Short Film Festivals, along with light bites and a silent auction. Tickets can be found online.
🍗 Mo’s Annual Turkey Drop — Friday, Nov. 14 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Reno Public Market (299 E. Plumb Ln., Reno) Come by the 9th Annual Turkey Drive at the Reno Public Market, hosted by DJ and radio personality Mo Ayala, and donate frozen turkeys, canned goods, non-perishable items, drinks, and monetary contributions, all benefiting the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
✂️ Craft Junkies – Listen, Chat, Make! — Friday, Nov. 14 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. at Sunrise Library (5400 E. Harris Ave., Las Vegas) Come in, listen to music, chat, and work on a unique project on the second Friday of each month. All supplies are provided for free. Space and supplies are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
💛 We Dance in Spirit – A Boarding School Remembrance — Saturday, Nov. 15 from 3-4 p.m. at West Charleston Library (6301 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas) Take part in this powerful and meaningful afternoon of live dance performances by members of our local tribes, where the stories and significance of each dance style will be shared. Local elders and descendants of survivors will also offer reflections on their families’ experiences during the boarding school era nationwide. This is a free event. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and may be limited.
