Seed Cleaning Workshops — Fridays, Aug. 22 and Aug. 29 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Mojave Bloom Desert Nursery (1401 Searles Ave.) in Las Vegas. Join Mojave Bloom, a local plant nursery rooted in sustainability, for a one-hour presentation on various topics such as plant pollinators, plant adaptations, ethnobotany, and habitat loss, followed by a two-hour seed cleaning activity. Music on the Mountain — Saturday, Aug. 23 at Lee Canyon. This summer concert series is free and open to all ages. Gates open at 9 a.m. with music from 1-5 p.m. This free event will feature Red Eye Gin, a band that plays a blend of Americana, country, and soulful blues. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the concert.
“Friday” on a Saturday by The Funktion Chicano Market — Saturday, Aug. 23 at West Wind El Rancho Drive-In Movies (555 El Rancho Drive) in Sparks. Pre-sale entry starts at 6 p.m., general admission entry starts at 7 p.m., and the first movie will begin around 9 p.m. A drive-in movie double feature with classic cars, music, vendors, food trucks, and comedy films, “Friday” and “Next Friday.” Tickets available online.
August Flea Market at Waggish & Co — Saturday, Aug. 23 from 5-9 p.m. at Waggish & Co Antique Store (243 California Ave.) in Reno. This free event will feature vendors, live music, and a raffle.
