Join your community, make new connections, try new things, and explore new places this weekend at these events in Las Vegas and Reno!

Seed Cleaning Workshops — Fridays, Aug. 22 and Aug. 29 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Mojave Bloom Desert Nursery (1401 Searles Ave.) in Las Vegas. Join Mojave Bloom, a local plant nursery rooted in sustainability, for a one-hour presentation on various topics such as plant pollinators, plant adaptations, ethnobotany, and habitat loss, followed by a two-hour seed cleaning activity. More info and registration online.

Music on the Mountain Saturday, Aug. 23 at Lee Canyon. This summer concert series is free and open to all ages. Gates open at 9 a.m. with music from 1-5 p.m. This free event will feature Red Eye Gin, a band that plays a blend of Americana, country, and soulful blues. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the concert.

“Friday” on a Saturday by The Funktion Chicano Market — Saturday, Aug. 23 at West Wind El Rancho Drive-In Movies (555 El Rancho Drive) in Sparks. Pre-sale entry starts at 6 p.m., general admission entry starts at 7 p.m., and the first movie will begin around 9 p.m. A drive-in movie double feature with classic cars, music, vendors, food trucks, and comedy films, “Friday” and “Next Friday.” Tickets available online.

August Flea Market at Waggish & CoSaturday, Aug. 23 from 5-9 p.m. at Waggish & Co Antique Store (243 California Ave.) in Reno. This free event will feature vendors, live music, and a raffle.
