¡Hola, Nevadenses!
🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day to those who celebrate!
Without realizing that St. Patrick’s Day was coming up, I painted my nails green last week (think light pistachio green). It was a nice coincidence when I looked at the calendar. Somehow the holiday creeps up on me every year.
Did any of our Reno readers participate in the recent Shamrock Shave? I love that the Reno Fire Department participates in this annual event every year, which seeks to fundraise for childhood cancer research.
Imagine if Lake Mead or Lake Tahoe were dyed green like they do in Chicago. Did you know that the first time the river was dyed in 1962, the oil-based Air Force dye kept the water green for nearly a month? Since then, a vegetable dye has been used.
Even then, I think we’ll keep our waters their natural blue, thank you very much! We work hard enough to preserve them.
