Sen. Cortez Masto tears into Russ Vought: “You’re putting Americans in more danger”

Nevada Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto sharply criticized Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought over delays in funding the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program, which supports law enforcement efforts against drug trafficking and fentanyl. Cortez Masto said the delays forced some HIDTA programs to furlough staff and scale back enforcement activities, arguing the administration was making communities less safe. She urged Vought to “stop playing games” with congressionally approved funding.
