Any voter registered in Clark County will be eligible to vote at Allegiant Stadium so long as they haven’t already cast their mail-in ballot or participated in early voting.

The largest sporting venue in Las Vegas will serve as a polling place for the first time ever, beginning with the upcoming Nov. 5 election, Nevada Secretary of State Cisco Aguilar’s office announced last week.

Allegiant Stadium, the home venue of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders, will be open as a public polling place on Election Day, Aguilar’s office said in a press release. It’s part of a partnership between the Secretary of State’s office, the Clark County Election Department and the Raiders, and will mark the first time the domed stadium will serve as a voting center since it first opened in 2020.

“This fall, the country will be looking to Nevada to decide who the next president is, and we need voters to get in the game,” Aguilar said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to partner with Clark County and the Las Vegas Raiders to open the doors to Allegiant Stadium, giving Nevadans a unique voting experience this fall.

“Participation in the electoral process is more important than ever, and now any eligible voter in Clark County can head to an iconic location on Election Day and Just Vote, Baby!” he continued.

Any voter registered in Clark County will be eligible to vote at Allegiant Stadium so long as they haven’t already cast their mail-in ballot or participated in early voting. Those who vote at the venue will receive an exclusive “I VOTED” sticker designed by the Raiders.

Those who aren’t registered to vote can sign up at any polling station within the county they reside either on Election Day or throughout the state’s early voting period, which runs from Oct. 19 through Nov. 1. Residents may also sign up online, or at their local clerk’s office or Department of Motor Vehicles branch.

Those voting by mail have until Oct. 22 to either register or update their registration information to be sent a ballot. Mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Nov. 5 and received by the county elections department no later than Nov. 9 to be counted.

“The great state of Nevada makes registration and voting easy and accessible,” Raiders owner Mark Davis said in a statement. “The Raiders and Allegiant Stadium are proud to do our part to encourage high turnout by providing a central location for Clark County voters to cast their ballots on election day.”

The Raiders and the NFL have also launched a webpage called “Las Vegas Votes” with additional information and resources on how to vote at Allegiant Stadium.

Using professional venues as polling locations generally bolsters voter turnout across the political spectrum and creates a positive voting experience for voters and election workers, according to a study conducted by the Harvard Kennedy School cited by Aguilar’s office.

That study analyzed 48 professional stadiums and arenas used for early and Election Day voting in 2020, and found they serve as effective venues because they can process large volumes of voters, are more accessible for those with disabilities, and are often centrally located near ample parking and mass transit lines.
