Vetoed bill called for semi-open primaries in NV

Nevada Democratic Assembly Speaker Steve Yeager's open primary bill with amendments would allow nonpartisan voters to cast a ballot in partisan primaries.

This could create a "semi-open" primary in Nevada, similar to Arizona. The bill passed out of the Assembly on strict party lines, with every Republican voting no. To be enacted, this bill must pass in the state Senate today, as the Legislature comes to an end.
