Hi, Nevadans!
I’m taking some extra holiday time this week, so you won’t see me in your inbox Wednesday and Friday. Happy Thanksgiving in advance to those who celebrate.
Keep an eye out for the newsletter again Dec. 1.
Today we’ve got: ready-made Thanksgiving meals in Reno if you don’t feel like cooking. And in case you missed it, citations issued to Elon Musk’s Boring Co. after two firefighters suffered chemical burns during a safety drill with the company earlier this year vanished after a call with Gov. Joe Lombardo’s office.
Have a good week!

The annual Thanksgiving feast can mean a lot of things: seeing family, playing board games, eating and cooking. If the last of those options leaves you less than enthused, you’re in luck. Renoites wanting a Thanksgiving meal without the cooking have several options.
Stores offering ready-made meals this year include Whole Foods, Cracker Barrel, Raley’s, Safeway and Sprouts, each with heat-and-serve bundles that cover staples like turkey, ham and holiday sides.
Many of the meals also come with mashed potatoes, stuffing and rolls, giving shoppers a full spread without the prep work or cleanup.

Bready or Not, Here They Are! “Any longtime Las Vegan who’s done their share of dining out has a few cringey core memories of what used to be the standard bread service in Las Vegas: a basket of chalky white lumps served with frigid pats of foil-wrapped butter. How did bread get so good in Las Vegas? Baked into this story is the marriage of traditional techniques, new technology, and more than a bit of madness.” (Desert Companion)
