Though Nevada may not always be known for its quality of education, U.S. News & World Report recently noted one Reno school as among the best high schools in the country in its 2026-2027 Best High School Rankings.
The American media company uses data from the Nevada Department of Education, the United States Department of Education and other sources to determine the best high schools in Nevada based on six factors. These factors include: college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates.
Reno and Las Vegas dominated Nevada’s top 10 list of best high schools, with one Reno school even gaining the No. 4 spot in the national ranking.
