These Sin City activities will help you stay busy and hopefully ease the pain of a broken heart.

Nothing other than time truly heals a broken heart. Living it up in Las Vegas, however, comes pretty close.

You can drink your sadness away on handcrafted cocktails or craft beer at one of the city’s many swanky bars and nightlife establishments, but that’s a lot like the old cliche of eating a tub of ice cream. Though it feels good in the moment, you’ll regret it in the morning.

If you’re looking for healthier ways to move on and move forward after a breakup — or at least to get your ex off your mind — you’ll find plenty of options, both on and off the Las Vegas Strip. From a day of solo pampering to a night of laughs with friends, these Sin City activities will help you stay busy and hopefully ease your pain.

Make it a spa day

When any relationship fizzles out, you’re left with lingering aches, unchecked emotions, what-ifs, and tight muscles. What better way to clear your mind of toxic thoughts and heal from post-breakup trauma than by spending a relaxing day at a luxurious Las Vegas spa?

While spa treatments can be expensive, many resort spas offer discounts for locals so be sure to ask.

Both men and women will find ultimate rejuvenation in the whirlpools, steam baths, and saunas at the largest Forbes Five-Star spa in the world, the Spa & Salon at Aria. Be sure to add a signature massage or hydrating wrap to melt away your tension. And don’t forget to head to the salon for a brand-new look or the barbershop for a clean shave.

Wynn and Encore Las Vegas also boast five-star spa facilities with all the body, hair, and makeup services you need to feel like a new you. If you’re on the rebound, check out the co-ed facilities at Awana Spa at Resorts World, including four vitality pools, heated Tepidarium chairs, a Crystal Laconium with salt therapy, an event sauna, and a foot spa lounge.

Consider booking a spa suite if your friends are coming along for support. The Spa at Red Rock Resort, Casino & Spa has private spa suites, with packages including wellness services, food, champagne, private fitness classes, and gifts. The Sahra Suite at Sahra Spa, Salon & Hammam at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas includes a private treatment area, TV, wet bar, whirlpool tubs, and butler service.

Break some stuff

Maybe touch isn’t your love language. Or, maybe you’re far too enraged by the thought of your ex’s new boo to lay still on a massage table. You are full of pent-up stress and anger and you need a way to let it go without injuring yourself or anyone else. The good news is, Las Vegas is home to several rage rooms where you can make like the Hulk, and safely smash stuff to smithereens.

Did your ex leave behind a bunch of his or her possessions after your breakup? Even better! Instead of throwing it all out the window, put it in a box and head over to Wreck Room, iSmash Las Vegas, Axehole Vegas, or Sin City Smash for some serious smash therapy. It’s all done in a safe environment with protective gear to keep you (and your ex) injury-free.

You don’t have to bring your own items though. These rage rooms offer several objects for your smashing pleasure like beer bottles, computer keyboards, printers, VHS tapes, cassettes, plates, and computers.

Think of it this way: He or she broke your heart. Now it’s your turn to break something.

Eat good food

Smashing things has been known to work up quite an appetite. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of excellent places to eat in Sin City, and many are ideal for solo diners. In fact, over the past couple of years, solo dining at U.S. restaurants has risen with single-person reservations up 29 percent, according to reservation platform OpenTable.

Solo diners may feel especially comfortable at an upscale food hall on the Las Vegas Strip. Famous Foods at Resorts World has a curated collection of pan-Asian and other street eats. If you like Italian food, check out Eately at Park MGM. It’s open, airy, and great for people-watching with sit-down and grab-and-go options plus tons of tables. Block 16 Urban Food Hall at the Cosmopolitan features restaurants by some of the country’s best chefs, and if you’re feeling extra feisty you can wash it all down with a shot of tequila at the hidden Ghost Donkey speakeasy in the back.

When dining with friends, opt for a family-style meal at Maggiano’s Little Italy at the Fashion Show Mall or Carmine’s in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Hachi in Chinatown Las Vegas is known for its Japanese tapas, great for sharing. Spanish restaurant Julian Serrano at Aria also has shareable small plates.

For fine dining and a show, check out the Mayfair Supper Club at the Bellagio Las Vegas, where singers, dancers, and dining collide, all with a backdrop of the world-famous Bellagio fountains.

Laugh a little

They say laughter is the best medicine. And while we don’t know who this elusive “they” is, we must admit, they do seem to be onto something.

From Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club at the LINQ to Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club at MGM Grand, there are lots of places to laugh out loud in Las Vegas. If you need to laugh away your sadness immediately, catch the afternoon comedy magic show Laughternoon with the rubber duck-obsessed Adam London at the Orleans. If you prefer living animals to rubber ones, you’ll love the talented and hilarious cats and dogs in Comedy Pet Theater at Planet Hollywood.

Mad Apple by Cirque du Soleil combines the daring feats of acrobats and circus performers with hilarious performances by nationally-known stand-up comedians, all on a custom-designed stage at New York-New York Hotel & Casino.

In the mood for something lusty instead of laughy? Grab your pals and head to a nudie show like the male revue Magic Mike Live at the Sahara Las Vegas or the burlesque Fantasy at the Luxor.

And while we’re not implying your relationship ended due to problems in the bedroom, you may be able to learn some new tricks (and get an eye-opening look at the surprising stretchability of the male anatomy) at Puppetry of the Penis at the Erotic Heritage Museum.

If all else fails, absorb healing vibes as an audience member at the comedy-murder mystery dinner show Marriage Can Be Murder at the Orleans. Sure, your relationship is over, but at least you aren’t dead.

Take sexy new selfies

Now that you feel good and look good, it’s time to snap some smokin’ selfies. With so many eye-catching attractions in Las Vegas, you’ll never run out of places to go for photos to post on social media or a new dating profile.

Not only will you love letting loose at the Play Playground at Luxor, the games and attractions in this immersive, hands-on adult playground look vibrant in photographs. The life sized optical illusions at the Museum of Illusions, between Crystals and the Cosmopolitan, are practically designed for great photo ops that elicit “oohs” and “ahhs.”

You’ll feel like you’re on top of the world while riding on the High Roller at the Linq Promenade. Be sure to snap a selfie when you reach the peak, 550 feet in the air, with an expansive view of the Las Vegas Valley in the background. The view of the Strip from a golfing bay at the multi-level TopGolf Las Vegas also makes for an amazing photo.

If you prefer natural attractions to artificial ones, head to Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area or the Valley of Fire. You can educate yourself on Las Vegas history and heritage at the Springs Preserve. Or take a vigorous hike amid the pines at Mount Charleston.

Whatever you do and wherever you go — whether posing poolside at the free-to-locals Sammy’s Island at Palms Casino Resort or next to a hip mural in the downtown Arts District — your photos will surely fill your ex with regret.

Now, don’t forget to smile and say, “I am enough!”
