It doesn’t have to be Taco Tuesday to find a delicious taco in Las Vegas. 

Meat, fish, or vegetarian; authentic or eclectic–our city is a prime destination for these handmade handheld treats. With so many taco shops to choose from, you might think you’re south of the border.

Not sure where to start on your taco tour? Here are 10 of the best places to find tacos in Las Vegas.

Taco Y Taco
Owned by sisters Fabiola and Gabriela Trujillo, Taco y Taco puts a modern twist on traditional handcrafted street tacos with several meat or vegetarian options–from shredded beef to grilled cactus–so you can customize it how you like it. Along with tasty tacos and strong sangria, Yelper Evan T. compliments the restaurant’s atmosphere; between the popular music, TVs and modern interior, he writes, “it’s almost like a Taco Club.” Yelper Pamela W. agrees, writing: “We just had a fiesta at Taco Y Taco that left our taste buds dancing in delight.”

Abuela’s Tacos
Las Vegas native Leslie Valdes opened Abuela’s Tacos in honor of her grandmother, who always made the best food. The menu includes a perfect balance of authenticity and originality with tacos options ranging from meat and fish to Hot Cheetos. Featured on the Netflix show Taco Chronicles, the food is made to order and the tortillas are handmade. Yelper Rhonda S. writes that the tortillas are so good, she would have gotten some to-go if she hadn’t been traveling, adding “I was blown away by how authentic this food is” while T.L. writes that the food “brings back fond memories of my abuelita’s home-cooked meals.”

Tacos El Gordo
Why cross the border for an authentic TJ taco experience when you can have one at home? With multiple locations in Las Vegas (and California), Tacos El Gordo makes its tacos from scratch Tijuana-style using handmade corn tortillas as homemade guacamole and salsa. The no-frills, family-owned operation can get busy and the process of ordering different tacos from different lines is sometimes confusing, but it’s worth the wait and the learning curve. “The lines move quickly so don’t be intimidated when you first walk in,” writes Yelper Mary J. Adds Sophia V.: “It’s like a taco treasure hunt … a culinary adventure.”

Bajamar Seafood & Tacos
Bajamar Seafood & Tacos transports you to the coast with Baja-inspired fish tacos at two Las Vegas locations. The made-to-order tacos (like the spicy octopus taco) capture authentic Mexican seafood flavors using recipes from the chef’s family. Friendly service and a lively atmosphere complement the artisan cuisine. “There isn’t a bad choice on the menu,” writes Tony M. on Yelp. Adds Yelper Connie K.: “The tacos here are nothing short of delicious, boasting flavors that consistently hit the mark.”

Tacotarian
A plant-based Mexican eatery with four Las Vegas locations, Tacotarian was inspired by the veggie dishes of Mexico City. The menu is a modern take on Mexican staples with 14 vegan tacos and other street food favorites, as well as specialties like Takis elote. The food is both tasty and health conscious with plenty of dairy-free, gluten-free and plant-based food options. Not a vegetarian? No problem. “You won’t even know that this place is 100% plant-based,” writes Blaise H. on Yelp, adding, “As a non-vegan myself, I cannot even taste the difference.” Portion sizes also won’t disappoint. Writes Erika A.: “Make sure you come on an empty stomach.”

Slanging Tacos
Family-run taco truck Slanging Tacos is on a mission to serve the Las Vegas community with tasty Mexican tacos and more. It’s a passion project for Chef Nery Haro and his hardworking family, who hope to spread good vibes through their food. Chef Nery grew up with Mexican cuisine in Southern California, then traveled across the country to try different variations of tacos before developing his own eclectic creations, like a surf and turf taco, incorporating new flavors and combinations. “Definitely don’t sleep on this food truck,” writes Daniel S. on Yelp. “Oh my god, best food truck experience of my life,” adds Ashley M. “I’m from Miami but the Vegas food is convincing me to move to the west.”

El Norte
Whether dining in or ordering takeout, you’ll enjoy top-quality food made from fresh ingredients at the family-owned El Norte Taco Shop. The restaurant cuts its own meat and makes its salsas and dressings in-house from scratch. The menu is simple but provides a sampling of the culinary diversity of Mexico with tacos, street tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas and nachos. Yelper Heather F. was particularly impressed with the pride the chef takes in his food, writing, “He was so kind and clearly has his customers in mind when cooking.” Adds Jeffer V.: “Nice place, clean, customer service is good and food is great. As the hip kids say, ‘Bussin!’”

Taqueria Ktrina
Sisters Marisela and Eloisa Aguilar recreate the flavors of their childhood with fast, yet authentic Mexican food at Taqueria Ktrina in downtown Las Vegas’ Pawn Plaza. Serving both street and fully-loaded VIP tacos, as well as classic dishes, snacks and desserts, the Aguilar sisters “put their hearts into their food and you can tell,” writes Meagan B. on Yelp. Seating is outdoors on Las Vegas Boulevard by the World-Famous Gold and Silver Pawn Shop. Yelper Crystal M. writes that she has been searching for the best tacos in Las Vegas since she moved here 12 years ago and “I have finally found them!.”

Tacos & Beer
With two dozen types of artisanal tacos and 20 rotating craft beers on tap, Tacos & Beer is a 3,300-square-foot Las Vegas hot spot with a cool, casual vibe that honors Hispanic culture. Every taco is crafted with homemade tortillas, prepared with fresh masa daily. The menu also includes other Mexican food favorites, craft cocktails, and signature margaritas–all a great reason to visit during the daily Happy Hour. Yelper Tim S. describes the restaurant as a memorable experience that “exudes a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere…I can hardly wait to return to this delightful haven of flavors.” 

The Taco Stand
While The Taco Stand sounds like a kiosk selling tacos, it’s really a small sit-down cantina with a salsa bar and large menu, including dessert, inspired by the taco stands of Tijuana and Baja peninsula. With locations in Texas, California and Florida, the Las Vegas restaurant is a Mexican gem in Chinatown. Meat, fish and vegetarian tacos are crafted with handmade corn tortillas, and the guacamole and salsa are made from scratch. Writes Yelper Chanel B.: “The food is always fresh and the staff is friendly. The interior is also vibrant and lively. I love wall art and decor. It’s a cute, casual taco joint … You must try it if you enjoy tacos and fresh Mexican food.”
