Out of the shadows: Nevada’s queer elders

For decades, the lives and legacies of Nevada's LGBTQ+ elders existed quietly, passed down through whispers and memories. Now, those stories are stepping into the spotlight. From police raids at gay bars to the first openly gay lawmaker in Nevada, Nevada's queer pioneers have lived through eras of survival and pride. But even as their history is being preserved, their old age comes with new unexpected challenges.

Nevada LGBTQ+ advocates respond to trans rights setbacks at state and federal levels

Nevada’s LGBTQ+ community and allies are coming together to face legal and political challenges impacting transgender people across Nevada after Gov. Joe Lombardo vetoed two bills affecting transgender Nevadan’s access to care, as well as the Supreme Court’s decision last week to uphold a law in Tennessee banning youth gender-affirming care.
