There’s a chill in the air and the leaves are beginning to change. Corn mazes, pumpkin patches and haunted houses are just weeks away, and Halloween fans may be wondering where to find spooky tours near Reno.

Here’s a guide to haunted houses, ghost walks and corn mazes across Northern Nevada.

Reno, Carson City haunted houses

Dark Corner Haunted House

Dark Corner has staged haunted houses at Reno’s National Bowling Stadium in recent years. This season, it moves to the historic Nevada State Prison in Carson City, which operated from 1862 to 2012 and is now a public historic site.

Dark Corner is offering multiple spooky events throughout October. “Behind the Screams” is a flashlight tour with paranormal storytelling. On Nov. 1, a one-night-only event turns off all lights, leaving guests to navigate with flashlights. VIP tickets include merch, faster entry, free drinks, behind-the-scenes makeup access and even cockroach petting.

  • Dates: Sept. 26–Nov. 1, Fridays and Saturdays, with select Thursdays and Sundays for “Behind the Screams.” Tours run 6:30 p.m. to last admission at 11 p.m.
  • Cost: Opening weekend discount tickets (Sept. 26–27) are $24.95 general and $54.95 VIP. The following weekend (Oct. 3–4) is $29.95 general and $59.95 VIP. Most other nights (Oct. 10–Nov. 1, with additional dates Oct. 16, 26 and 30) cost $34.95 general and $64.95 VIP. “Behind the Screams” flashlight tours on Oct. 5, 9 and 12 are $84.99 per person. Andelin Family Farm Corn Creepers and Zombie Paintball

Andelin Family Farm isn’t just pumpkin patches and corn mazes — it also offers haunted tours and zombie paintball. Corn Creepers transforms the corn maze into a spooky labyrinth full of scare actors. Next to it, Zombie Paintball lets visitors load onto a bus and fire paintballs at “zombies.”

  • Dates: Sept. 27–Nov. 1, Thursdays–Saturdays. Times vary by day but generally run 6:30–9:15 p.m.
  • Cost: Zombie Paintball is $15 on opening weekend at the end of September, $27 on Halloween weekend and around $20–$25 on weekends in between. Corn Creepers is $15 on Sept. 27 and up to $32 in mid-October. You can purchase tickets online or in person.
  • Location: 8100 Pyramid Way in Sparks

Carson City Ghost Walk

The Carson City Ghost Walk takes guests on a historical tour of Nevada’s capital with a spooky twist. Actors portray ghosts while sharing stories tied to landmarks around town.

  • Dates: Flashlight tours are already underway in Carson City, with upcoming walks set for Sept. 20 and 27, both starting at 7 p.m. For a daytime option, a Ghost Walk is scheduled for Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Cost: Tickets for the flashlight tours cost $20 if bought ahead of time online or $25 in person. The Oct. 25 event costs $25 if bought ahead or $30 in person.
  • Location: Guests will meet at McFadden Plaza in downtown Carson City 15 minutes before they depart at the scheduled time.

The Final Hour

For those who want a haunted house closer to Reno, The Final Hour offers tours throughout October.

  • Dates: Opens Oct. 3 and runs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 1. Tours begin at 8 p.m., with last admission at 11 p.m.
  • Cost: General admission is $30.68; VIP tickets are $48.70.
  • Location: 875 Deming Way, Reno
