With New Year’s Eve around the corner, Northern Nevadans may be looking for a place to see fireworks as they ring in 2026.
Whether you’re a night owl wanting to enjoy the party scene in downtown Reno on Dec. 31 and ring in the new year at midnight or are looking for an earlier celebration, there’s a variety of fireworks displays for Northern Nevadans happening on Dec. 31, 2025.
Here’s a list of fireworks displays scheduled to happen on New Year’s Eve this year.
Are there fireworks in Reno for New Year’s?
Yes. There are fireworks in downtown Reno at midnight on New Year’s Eve. The fireworks will be set off over the ROW casinos on Virginia Street.
Are there fireworks in Tahoe for New Year’s?
There are multiple fireworks shows scheduled for New Year’s at Lake Tahoe.
While Reno’s fireworks display is expected to happen at midnight on New Year’s Eve, the fireworks displays in Lake Tahoe are scheduled for hours earlier, with some starting as early as 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 31.

Where can I watch the fireworks at Heavenly Ski Resort?
Heavenly Ski Resort is hosting a 9 p.m. Gondola Ball Drop on Dec. 31, 2025 that coincides with the ball drop in Times Square in New York City at midnight on the East Coast. Fireworks will be set off following the ball drop. Visitors can watch the fireworks for free on top of Heavenly Village’s parking garage.
Where can I watch the fireworks at Palisades Tahoe?
The fireworks at Palisades Tahoe are happening even earlier on Dec. 31, 2025. Palisades Tahoe is setting off fireworks at 7 p.m. at the KT Deck in The Village at Palisades Tahoe. The fireworks show is free.
Where can I watch the fireworks at Mt. Rose?
Mt. Rose plans to set off fireworks at 5:45 p.m. at the Main Lodge. The ski resort said the New Year’s Eve celebration, which includes a torchlight parade and other events, is very popular, and “parking is expected to fill up quickly.” Visitors are encouraged to arrive early and consider carpooling.
Though the fireworks won’t be set off till 5:45 p.m., Mt. Rose’s New Year’s Eve events start an hour earlier.
