IndigenousAF, a Native-made arts and crafts retail store, is opening in Las Vegas’s Arts District in 2026. Here’s what you need to know.

A new Native-made arts and crafts retail store is set to open in Las Vegas’s Arts District in 2026. The endeavor is a collaboration between UNLV professor A.B. Wilkinson and artist Fawn Douglas. The duo made the announcement during their first gallery at the Nuwu Art Gallery and Community Center on November 12.

Speaking about the store, which will be called IndigenousAF, Wilkinson said, “We’ll be bringing artists and artwork back into that space,” which will encompass a variety of different aspects. About 1,500 square feet of the center will be a dedicated mixed-use space, 700 square feet will be a retail space, and 1,600 square feet will be for a gallery. IndigenousAF will highlight local and Native American artists, and will become a dedicated seller of Indigenous arts and crafts.

As of writing, an official opening date has not been set, though Douglas and Wilkinson are hopeful they’ll get the store up and running within the first quarter of the new year. To celebrate the announcement and forthcoming space, they’ll be holding a pop-up sale on November 28 at the Nuwu Art Gallery, located at 1331 S. Maryland Parkway. They’ll be previewing IndigenousAF items at the event. To learn more, please click here.

The announcement comes during Native American Heritage Month

Creating a space in Las Vegas’s Arts District highlighting the importance of Indigenous work is profoundly impactful, especially when that announcement comes during Native American Heritage Month. November is dedicated to celebrating the stories, traditions, and languages of Alaska Native and Native American communities, and to pass along their heritage and culture in Nevada and beyond. With the creation of IndigenousAF, Fawn Douglas and A.B. Wilkinson are hoping to deepen that connection.
